I was keeping something from Denzel.

We drove for over an hour before we finally arrived at a motel. Denzel took care of paying for the rooms; when everything was ready, we moved to the second floor of the building with our luggage and boxes. It was a few hours to midnight, and we had to get to bed before 12 if we wanted to wake up early for the rest of the journey. According to him, we would stay at the pack’s penthouse since our destination was in the city. Well, that’s what I told him.

I put down the box on the floor after we walked into the room. The apartment wasn’t modest, but it had everything we needed for the night. A comfortable bed, a shower and restroom, and a couch. There wasn’t a perfect lighting, but we had to make do with everything we had. “Hey,” Denzel said as he put our bags close to the bed. “I have to call Frey and tell her about our departure.”

“I’ll get the shower ready.” I told him.

“Okay.” He murmured and moved out to the balcony.

I smiled as I pulled off my jacket and tossed it on the bed. I walked into the bathroom and ensured everything we needed for a bath was working perfectly. The shower had the warmest water—the first good thing about this place. I sauntered back into the room and met Denzel. He had returned from the call, and it looked like he had something to say.

“No more motels after tonight. The penthouse has everything we need.”

“Okay. You should probably take a bath now. I’ll go after you.” I murmured. He chuckled, maintaining eye contact as he pulled off his jacket. He reached out to my hands and spun me to himself. I gasped for breath as my back collided with his chest. He buried his face exactly where he had marked me and inhaled my scent, letting out a predatory grunt. He ran his tongue over the mark, igniting a deep sense of desire within me. Sparks and electric coursed through my entire body. I squealed in ecstasy, pressing my body against him as I felt his erection.

“It’s me and you, my little darkness.” He smiled at me and unbuttoned my shirt. I bit my lower lip, snaking my hands around his neck and keeping him close to my body.

“You and I,” I breathed as he tugged off my belt. My trousers slipped to the ground, and I stepped out of them. I turned on my heels and wrapped my hands around his neck. He leaned closer, his breath hot on my skin, his hands rummaging through my body, so soft, so delicate. He kissed me, slowly, gently. I deepened the kiss, parting my tongue and letting him taste the sweetness in my mouth. He lifted me off the floor, holding me in place with his enormous arms. I broke off from the kiss and moved strands of his hair behind his ears. “Are we still going to have that bath?”

“Yes, we will.
